Terry McIntyre Obituary

Terry Lee McIntyre was born, on October 18, 1955, to the late Duke Henry McIntyre and the late Kathleen Rebecca Payne McIntyre, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County Schools and was a 1974 graduate of Chesnee High School. He enlisted in the United States Airforce and served his country for twenty years.

Terry received an Associate degree from Louisiana Technical College. He worked for a plethora of years for the City of Spartanburg.

Terry loved life and lived it to the fullest. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and riding motorcycles. One of his greatest joys was spoiling and spending time with his grandchildren. He is noted as being the best grandfather ever. Terry also would go to local nursing homes and minister to the residents by holding bible studies. He was a man of little words, but when he did speak, he would speak volumes. He was always a peacemaker in any situation. Terry loved God, church and his family.

Terry was a member of Brooklyn CME Church and sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and was a former chairman of the Trustees. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #48, Past Master of Victor Lodge #141, former First Lieutenant of Cherokee Consistory #267, High Priest of Holy Royal Arch, and King Solomons Temple #46.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by brother, Kenneth Payne McIntyre and grandmother, Isabella Payne.

He leaves fond and loving memories to his loving wife, Mildred B. McIntyre of the home; son, Terry C. (Dr. Simone) McIntyre of Kings Mountain, NC; daughter, Erika (Tommy) Reed of Farmville, TX; brothers, Duke York (Alva) McIntyre of Sumter, SC and Joseph McIntyre of Chesnee, SC; sisters, Cynthia Simmons of Spartanburg, SC, Gloria Bryant of Spartanburg SC, Elizabeth Doggett of Chesnee, SC and Natalie McIntyre of Chesnee, SC; aunts, Dora Lee Payne of Chesnee; grandchildren, Kendall Jennings, Christian Reed, Ashton Reed, Sydney Reed, Gavin Camp, Terry McIntyre and Isabella McIntyre; and a host of other relatives and friends.
