Saifullah Abdul Qadir, affectionately known as “Abu”, was born on September 3, 1952 to the late Helen Pitts Irby and the late Wilbert Irby, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in the Spartanburg County School system and attended Carver High School. He was the owner of, Al and Al, a painting service.
Saifullah is described as a comical no-nonsense guy. He had a compassionate heart and enjoyed spending quality time with his family. Saifullah enjoyed fishing and shooting pool in his spare time. His favorite teams were the Carolina Panthers and Los Angeles Lakers.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church where he served on the Greeter’s Ministry.
Saifullah was preceded in death, along with his parents, by siblings, Iola Smith, John Irby, Horace Irby, and Will Irby.
He leaves his legacy and memories to his wife, Rosa Qadir of Moore, SC; daughter, Sheeneka Bobo of Moore, SC; grandchildren, Kelvisha Brown, Mikel Harris, Makel Harris, Shakhi Murphy, Ashton Simuel, and Ayden Simuel; great-grandchild, Kasen Brown; brother, Melvin (Gwen) Irby of Jersey City, NJ; sisters, Peggy (Boyd) Tolbert and Patricia Irby both of Spartanburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
On the evening of Monday, July 25, 2023, Saifullah transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Medical Center. His comical and compassionate spirit will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
