Obituary

Roberta Elaine Hankins was born on October 16, 1963, to the late Robert Douglas and the late Elanor Cannaday in West Islip, NY. She was most noted for being a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. Roberta worked many years in call center customer service. She spent her pastime reading and working on puzzles. Roberta was also known for being talkative and extremely comical. Her favorite color was blue, and she held membership at the Word of God Church of Columbia, SC.

Roberta was preceded in death along with her parents by her grandparents, Reverend Samuel Cannaday and Bernice Cannaday.

Roberta leaves to cherished memories to daughter, Arneille (Russell Coleman) Cannaday of Rock Hill, SC; grandson, Preston Davis of Rock Hill, SC; sisters, Marilyn  Cannaday of Smithtown, NY,  Carol Wilson of Bay Shore, NY, Lisa Cannaday of Wading River, NY, and Elvina Walker of Charleston, WV; brothers, Robert (Pamela) Douglas, Jr. of Deer Park, NY and Kenneth Brown of Charleston, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

On the morning of Sunday, January 29, 2023, Roberta transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Medical Center. Her loquacious demeanor and witty spirit will sorely be missed and cherished.
