Robert Everett Sams, affectionately known as “Bob”, was born on January 11, 1945, to the late Estelle McKinney and the late Everette Sams, in Spartanburg County. He attended Pacolet High School and worked as and supervisor at Machine Technology, Inc.  He was an avid Carolina Gamecocks fan and was especially fond of gardening vegetables, and passed that hobby on to his son, Tyler.  His favorite color was red and he was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his sister, Nellene Hunter.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his loving wife, Elizabeth Sams of the home; daughter, Angela Riddle of Roebuck, SC; sons, Robert E. (Donna) Sams, Jr. of Atlanta, GA and Tyler S. (Taylor) Powell of Pauline, SC; sisters, Katy (Jimmy) Peeler of Spartanburg, SC and Alice Ruth (Joe) Tutterow of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On the morning of Sunday, July 10, 2022, Robert passed away peacefully with family at his side. His love and spirit will forever be cherished in the heart of his loved ones.
