Robert Lee Walker was born on June 26, 1950, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Herbert Walker and Louise Byrd Walker. He was educated in the Spartanburg County Schools. He was previously employed with Butte Knit.
Robert was known as being a “Dapper Dan”, his sense of style was second to none. He was always clean cut and took immense pride in how he looked. Robert had a bubbly personality and to his family and friends was known as the “OG”. His favorite singer was Anita Baker and favorite minister was Minister Louis Farrakhan.
Robert was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his siblings, Katie Bell Knight, Callie Mason, El Willie Weaver, Jr., and Gwendolyn Nichols.
He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories to his daughters, Tasha (Russell D., Jr.) Evans of Moore, SC and Fatina Lee Hall of Spartanburg, SC; brother, Herbert (Carolyn) Walker, Jr. of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Dylan Dover of Charlotte, NC , Deonte L. Jones of Columbia, SC, Jaylen Landrum of Spartanburg, SC, Noah King of Spartanburg, SC, Joshua King of Spartanburg, SC and Shane Dawkins of Spartanburg, SC; great grandchild, Preston Dover of Dallas, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
On the morning of April 16, 2023, Robert’s life came to a close. His incredible spirit and amazing sense of style will be missed by all who knew him.
