Mr. Robert Johnson was born on, May 16, 1954 to the late Josie Reid and the late Willie “Sonnie Boy” Lindsay in Spartanburg County. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was of the Baptist Faith. He retired from Hamrick’s after twenty years of service.
Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Lindsay and Jessie Johnson; four sisters, Elmer Louise Smith, Hattie Mae Johnson, Louvenia Porter, and Betty Jo Johnson.
He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to life partner, Maria Werts of the home; one son, Felix Harris of Ocala, Florida; one granddaughter, Shaquita R. Harris; three children raised in the home, Torry Boyd, Ronnie Boyd, and Portia Boyd, along with her son, Braylon Boyd and Ms. Lucille Boyd all of Spartanburg, SC.
Robert will be truly missed. Among those who will miss him most are one brother, William (Shirley) Johnson; one sister, Ms. Hazel Johnson; one sister-in-law, Ms. Virginia Johnson all of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family, and special friends.
Robert was well known by many. Cooking on the grill and deep frying fish were his favorite hobbies. He was also noted for his biscuits. Robert also was a DJ,
and his stage name was “Rooster Rooster”. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He loved family gatherings and motorcycle riding.
On Saturday, April 1, 2023, at the age of 68, Robert passed away after a long illness while surrounded by his family and friends.
