Robert Lewis Holmes, affectionately known as “Raboo”, was born to Bessie M. Holmes and Frank Holmes, in Spartanburg, SC, on December 15, 1966. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools and was a 1985 graduate of Spartanburg High School. He was employed at Capri's Italian Restaurant of Boiling Springs, SC as a chef.

Robert was a member of the Harrison Grove Baptist Church.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis and Anna Miller and Lela and Willie Holmes.
