Rickie Lenard Miller

Rickie Lenard Miller, affectionately known as “Rick”, was born on November 1, 1956, to the late Leon Miller and the late Elouise Stephens Miller, in Spartanburg SC.  He was educated in the Spartanburg County School system and was a Spartanburg High School graduate. He furthered his education at Wofford College and received a bachelor’s degree in art and psychology.

Rick was employed at Spartanburg Medical Center as an Anesthesiologist Tech. He was also employed at Dillard’s in the shoe department at Westgate Mall.

It was a complete joy to be in Rick’s presence. He was a jokester at heart and was often found “cracking” on friends and loved ones. Rick was known for being nice and caring. He would often buy items simply to give them away. Giving and sharing were indeed his love language. He was a very stylish dresser and he loved to travel. Rick was also talented in baking cakes.

Rick was a member of Alpha Phi Omega fraternity.  He was also heavily involved in a yearly fashion and arts showcase in the Spartanburg area.

His memory will be shared and treasured by brothers, Leroy Miller of Powder Springs, Ga, Dwayne Miller of the home, and Timothy Miller of Hampton VA; sister, Gwendolyn Miller of Lawrenceville, GA; aunt Wessie Stephens of Roebuck, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, coworkers, and friends.

On the evening of Saturday, July 1, 2023, Rickie transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Medical Center. His style, wit, and humor will be treasured by his family and friends.
