Mrs. Nellie Jackson was born on February 13, 1920, to the late Alonzo John Jackson and the late Ola Mae McIntyre Jackson in Rutherfordton, NC. She attended school in Rutherford County. She was married to the late Monroe Jackson, Sr., and to this union, eleven children were born.
Mrs. Nellie’s favorite past times were watching her favorite game shows, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal, riding through the countryside and through the mountains, and eating.
She leaves to cherish loving memories to her daughters, Doris Jackson Davis and Dianne Jackson both of Pompano Beach, FL, and Theresa Jackson (Daniel) Miller of Spartanburg, SC; sons, David (Shirley) Jackson, James (Lilly Bell) Jackson both of Spartanburg, SC and Robert Jackson of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Shawn Robinson, Kevin Miller, Daniel Miller, Jr., John Jackson, Jr., Demetric Ray, Shareef Carter, Kenneth Robinson, Herbert Jackson, and Rayong Berry, Sandra Robertson Kendra Hunter, Juanita Davis, Bernard Smith, Serenity Davis, Kahil Robinson, Nykirra Walton, Cheryl Jackson, Jordan Robinson, Quan Miller, and Quindon Miller; daughter-in-law, Charoeen Jackson; son-in-law, Robert Wells; a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.
Mrs. Nellie was predeceased, along with her parents and husband, by children Monroe Jackson, Jr., Master Sergeant John E. Jackson, and Annie C. Wells; son-in-law, John Davis; granddaughter, Shala Carter; sisters, Lucille Whiteside, Hattie McKinney, Alberta Mills, Laura Chambers, Myrtle Chambers, Theresa Brannon, and Edna Hamilton; brothers, Boyce Jackson, Sylvester Jackson, Barney Jackson, and Ralph Jackson.
On Monday, March 7, 2022, after living a long and fruitful life, Mrs. Nellie transitioned peacefully and will be forever cherished in the heart and minds of all who loved her dearly.
