Marie Jeter Stoute was born on August 22, 1947, to the late Mamie Jeter Stoute and the late Samuel Jeter, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County Schools and a graduate of Carver High School. She continued her education at North Carolina Agriculture and Technical University receiving a Bachelors Degree in Education. She was an educator until she retired.
In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, solving word puzzles, reading, music, and dancing. Marie was a very strong-willed individual. She could also be described as independent. Her favorite NFL football team was the Carolina Panthers.
Marie was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated. Her favorite colors were pink and green. She was of the Baptist Faith.
She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by siblings, Daniel Jeter and Emanuel Jeter.
Left to cherish her life and legacy include son, Troy Stoute; brothers, Howard (Betty) Jeter and Hubert Jeter; sisters, Edna (Willie) Westley and Lillie Cruel; granddaughter, Z’Nya Stoute and a host of nieces nephews other relatives and friends.
On the morning of March 17, 2024, Marie transitioned peacefully at the Windsor House Assisted Living. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
