Joann Brewton was born to the late James William Henderson, Sr., and the late the Jessie M. Petty Henderson in Spartanburg County. She attended her beloved Central High School in Newark, New Jersey. Joann was a strong-willed woman who loved her family immensely. She was known as being the life the party and loved making money.
She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her daughters, Jackie Miller of Wellford, SC, Charlene Miller of Boiling Springs, SC, Charlette Miller of Wellford, SC, and Debbie Miller of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchildren, Chris Miller, Ebony Miller, D'Angelo Miller, Brandon Miller, Felicia Miller, Danny Smith, Courtney Miller, Khalida Miller Banks, and Jamal Miller Banks; sisters, Lessie McDowell of Inman, SC, Kathleen (Scottie) Doggett of Campobello, SC, and Janie Clarke of Campobello, SC; brother, Danny Lee (Louise Gardnar) Henderson of Inman SC; aunt, Mary Smith of Holly Springs, SC; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Joann was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her loving husband John Henry Brewton, brother, James Henderson, Jr., and brothers-in-laws, Joe William McDowell and Alfred Clark.
On the morning of Saturday, June 25, 2022, Joann transitioned peacefully with family by her side. Her legacy of love and family will forever echo in the hearts of her loved ones. A life well-lived, and a journey completed.
