Angela Langley Turner, affectionately known as “Angie”, was born on August 22, 1963, to the late Freddie Langley and the late Helen Turner Langley, in New Orleans, LA. She was a 1982 graduate of Scotlandville High School, in Baton Rouge, LA.
Angela graduated from Baton Rouge School of Cosmetology and was an accomplished cosmetologist for many years. She took pride in making sure her customers were satisfied with her services.
Angela accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age at Beech Grove Baptist Church in Baton Rouge, LA. Later, she relocated to Sumter, SC. Angela later joined the Shaw Air Force Base Choir and consequently became a member of Grace Cathedral Ministries under the leadership Apostle Sammy C. Smith. She served as a former children’s ministry director and sang with the Voices of Grace.
One of Angela’s greatest accomplishments was birthing and raising her children. Angela was a loving mother and her boys were her pride and joy.
Angela was a very happy and caring individual. She was incredibly ambitious and would set lofty goals and achieve them all. She was a very spiritual person and had a dynamic relationship with the Lord. Angela is noted for being a praiser at heart. She had a smile so infectious it would light up any room. Angela’s favorite colors were purple and gold.
Angela was preceded in death, along with her parents, by maternal grandparents, Aggie and Elijah Turner and paternal grandparents, Julia and Noah Langley.
Angela’s life will continue to be honored by her loving husband of 29 years, Calvin Turner of the home; sons, Nevin I. Turner, Owen S. Turner, and Adam J. Turner all the home; brothers, Freddie (Detra) Langley, Jr., and Bruce W. (Melissa) Langley, Sr. both of Zachary, LA; sisters, Cynthia (Keith) Blackburn of Zachary , LA and Helen L. (Darryl) Washington of Bartlett, TN; aunts, Ruth Kleinpeter of Baton Rouge, LA, Ethel Parker of Clinton, LA, and Jessie Langley of Baker, LA; uncles, Noah Lang of Baton Rouge, LA, Orange (Delores) Lang, Sr. of Erwinville, LA, and Johnny Turner of Baker, LA; in-laws, Willie (Janice) Turner of Trenton, SC, Robert (Gail) Turner, Jr. of Ridge Springs, SC, Martha Williams of Augusta, GA, Linda Turner of North Augusta, GA and Elizabeth Turner of Florence, SC; adopted brother, David Smith; special friends, Violet Smith, Mary Walker, Melanie Dees, Gwen Cofield, Susan James, and Cynthia Nottingham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and other friends.
On Wednesday, October 4, 2023, Angela transitioned to her heavenly home. She can now rest from her labors. We give thanks to God for her life.
