Timothy Matthew Grice

Timothy Matthew Grice II, affectionately known as “Bub” and “Tim,” was born on April 5, 1944, in Georgetown, SC, to the late Timothy Matthew Grice Sr. and the late Christina Johnson Grice. On August 9, 2026, in Spartanburg, SC, Timothy entered into eternal rest.
Timothy was preceded in death by his parents, Timothy Sr. and Christina Grice; his beloved wife, Evelyn Webster Grice; his oldest son, James Morant Sr.; his sister, Brenda Grice; and three brothers, Robert, Ben, and Clifton Grice.

Timothy graduated from Choppee High School in 1962. After graduation, he migrated North in pursuit of a career and a better life for his family. Timothy was a gentle giant—a man of few words with a heart of gold. He was a hardworking and devoted family man who was the epitome of a protector and provider.

In the late 1960s, Timothy began a long and dedicated career with Wakefern, where he worked for more than 25 years. In 1983, he began another chapter of his career with Vitillo Ice Company, where he faithfully worked for an additional 22 years.
In his leisure time, Timothy enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending quality time with his family. After completing their careers, Timothy and Evelyn retired and relocated to the South, where they purchased a home in Chesnee, SC, Evelyn’s hometown.
Timothy leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Kisha Grice of Keyport, NJ; three sons: Ray Morant, Scott Morant Sr. (Karen) both of Lancaster, PA, and Timothy Grice III of Chesnee, SC; He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law, Bonnie Morant of Lancaster, PA.
He is survived by six sisters: Dorethia Bromell, Linda Grice, Cora Grice, Winnie Grice, and Menia Grice-Lockhart, all of Georgetown, SC; and Edith Grice of Columbia, SC.

He also leaves to cherish his memory four brothers: Al Grice (Raquel) and Lavern Grice (Pauline), both of Myrtle Beach, SC; Vernard Grice of Orangeburg, SC; and Alex Grice of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Mamie Webster Jones of Chesnee, SC.

Timothy leaves a beautiful legacy through his 15 grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Pop Pop,” including three grandchildren whom he and Evelyn reared as their own: Timeece, Timothy IV, and Timya.
Tim will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
