Thomas Bail Young, Jr., known to most as "T. Y.", was born on January 23, 1951, to Elizabeth Franks and the late Thomas B. Young, Sr. in Spartanburg County. He was a graduate of Carver High School in Spartanburg, SC. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Gaffney, SC, and was a member of the men's choir. Mr. Young is a Veteran of the US Army. He was employed by the New York County School system as a bus driver.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his wife, Karen Hall Young of the home; daughters, Daryl (Stanley) Moss, Roslyn Young, Tamekia Young, Sheridan Young, Keasha Holloway, Stephanie Hall, and Courtney Hall all of Spartanburg, SC; son, Derrick( Tracy) Montgomery of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Mary (Larry) Sims and Ethel Franks both of Spartanburg, SC, Harriet (Jimmy) Randall and Sarah (Curtis) Mack of Myrtle Beach SC; brothers,  Leonard Franks of Jacksonville, FL, Sammuel Franks of Myrtle Beach, SC, and David Young of Charlotte, NC; 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death, along with his father, by one grandson Anthony Young.

On Monday, April 2, 2022, Thomas transitioned peacefully in Long Beach, New York with family at his side. His legacy and love will forever be cherished and remembered.
