Thomas Earl Wood, affectionately known as "Tom", was born on October 27, 1945, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Plessie and James Wood. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools. Thomas earned an Associates degree from Spartanburg Technical College in Engineering Management. He worked many years in management at Mayfair Mills. Thomas was a member of Believers' Fellowship Church and served on the Greeter's Ministry.

Thomas was a calm and mild-mannered gentleman. He was extremely quiet, but friendly. Thomas's favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys and his favorite color was blue. In his spare time he enjoyed watching sports of all kinds.

Thomas was preceded in death along with his parents, by a brother, McDouglas Wood.

Thomas leaves a legacy of love to his dutiful wife, Ramona G. Wood of the home; daughters, Sherri Chisholm of Atlanta, GA, Cynthia Garrett of Baltimore, MD, Paulette Mullins of Spartanburg, SC,  and Pamela (Henry) Wood of Pensacola, FL; sons, Tony Cates, Thomas Wood, Anthony Wood, and Sidney Wood all of Spartanburg, SC; stepdaughters, LaTonya Chancellor of Atlanta, GA and LaKita (Stafford) Rosser of Cherryville, NC; sister,  Glenda Briggs of Spartanburg, SC; brother, John Wood of Boiling Springs SC; special grandson, Andrew Roberts of the home; and a host of other grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On the morning of Tuesday, December 6, 2023, Thomas transitioned peacefully with family by his side. He will forever be cherished and loved for his kind and loving spirit.
