Theresa Ann Carpenter, affectionately known as "Resa," was born on October 29, 1964, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Virginia Brown and the late Ralph Russell, Jr.

She was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and proudly graduated with the Spartanburg High School Class of 1982. Theresa was a dedicated employee of BSG for over 15 years.

Resa will be remembered as a loving, friendly, caring, giving, and loyal woman. She had a joyful spirit and a great sense of humor, always ready to share a laugh and enjoy good times. She loved scratch-off tickets and playing her numbers and she was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Resa was also a faithful member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Letha Brown.

Theresa leaves a legacy of love and laughter to her children, George Brown and Tiara Carpenter, both of Spartanburg, SC; mother, Virginia Brown of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Carolyn Brown of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, NyQwesha Boyce, Ty'Auna Mallory, Georgia Brown, Galayzia Brown, George Brown, Jr., Gorgeous Brown, and Taliriyah Rice; aunts, Martha Coleman, Mary A. Edwards, Viola (Jay) Durrah, Dorothy Hawthorne, Linda Byrd, and Debra Robinson, all of Spartanburg, SC; uncles, Leonard (Stephanie) Brown of Spartanburg, SC, and Robert L. (Cheryl) Caldwell of Warner Robins, GA; great aunt, Lucy Steen; special friend, Juan Gist; best friends, Shante Williams, Tammy Robinson, Cynthia Smith, and Cybil Wofford; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

On the evening of Saturday May 17, 2025, Theresa transitioned peacefully at her home. She will be deeply missed.
