IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tangela Lavette
Harris
November 2, 1970 – February 26, 2025
Tangela Lavette Harris, affectionately known as "Tangie", was born on November 2, 1970, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Jessie Mae Bennette Harris and the late James Edward Harris. She was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and graduated from Woodruff High School in 1988. Tangela dedicated her career to caring for others and was employed as a Medical Technician at Brookdale Brushy Creek.
Tangela was the heart and soul of every gathering, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. Her warm, infectious smile could light up any room, making everyone feel welcomed and loved. She had a deep love for reading and was a passionate music enthusiast. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Tubi and Lifetime, embracing stories that captivated her spirit. Her favorite color, hot pink, reflected her vibrant personality and zest for life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary L. Harris; her maternal grandparents, Earnest and Rosa L. Bennett; and her paternal grandparents, George Nelson and Laura Boyd Harris.
Tangela leaves behind a loving family and cherished memories. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Natashia Harris of Spartanburg, SC; her sisters, Rebecca McClintock of Spartanburg, SC and Doris Scott of Greer, SC; her aunts, Toni Moore, Dorothy Fuller, and Betty Glenn all of Spartanburg, SC and Daisy Nash of Inman, SC; her uncles, Willie (Mary) Bennett of Roebuck, SC and Clifford Bennett of Spartanburg, SC; her dear friend, Anthony McMahan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Tangela peacefully transitioned at Spartanburg Medical Center. Though she is no longer physically with us, her love, light, and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
