Steve Anthony Nesbitt was born on February 14, 1959, in Spartanburg, SC to the late Boyde Nesbitt and the late Gladys Thompson Nesbitt. He was educated in Spartanburg County Schools and attended Carver High School. He furthered his education at Spartanburg Technical College and received a certificate in Sheet Metal Fabrication.
Steve had a laid-back personality. He had a smooth and calming spirit and dry sense of humor. He was a talented musician and was especially gifted at the guitar. One of his most noted giftings was the ability to work with his hands. This allowed him to craft many items. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan, and his favorite color was blue.
He was preceded in death, along with parents, by sister, Thelma Twitty.
His legacy of love will be treasured by his son, Ditwan (Tevera) Meadows of Washington, DC; daughters, Tia Meadows of Duncan, SC, Arieal Nesbitt, and Aushundra Nesbitt both of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Boyde Nesbitt, Jr. and Jerry (Sarah) Nesbitt both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Pecolia Jackson of Washington, DC; Mildred (Joe) Gist of Moore, SC and Gladis (David) Foster of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Willie Nesbitt of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Destini Black, Ditwan Meadows, Jr., Gabby Rogers, Myles Meadows, Tristan Tabron and Tyler Tabron; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
On Thursday, July 13, 2023, Steve transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Medical Center. His talented and witty spirit will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
