Stacy Donnell Woodruff, affectionately known as "Pete Rock", was born on August 13, 1977, to Willie Mae Checks and the late Benny Woodruff, Jr., in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools. Stacy was noted as being the "class clown" and extremely funny. Stacy had a loveable, outgoing, and outspoken personality. He was loved by everyone, especially those in High Land community. Stacy's favorite color was blue.

He was preceded in death, along with his father, by brother, Bennie Woodruff, III; son, Stayshun Woodruff; grandparents, Bennie Woodruff, Sr., Mary Woodruff, and Elizabeth Cheeks.

Left to cherish his memory include mother, Willie Mae Cheeks of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, StaySha Woodruff of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Glenn Woodruff and Cornelius Woodruff both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Angela Woodruff and Donna (Gary) Manigan both of Spartanburg, SC; uncles, Michael Woodruff and Franklin (Faye) Woodruff both of Spartanburg, SC; grandchild, Aiden Woodruff; special friend, Nita Jeter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On Thursday, April 11, 2024, Stacy transitioned. His comedic and loving spirit will be missed greatly.
