Sherry Renika Worthy was born on September 23, 1980, to the late Michael Thomas and the late Sheila Worthy, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in Spartanburg County Schools.

Sherry had an outgoing personality and was extremely friendly. She enjoyed dancing and was the life of the party. Her favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers, and she was noted for being a daredevil.

Sherry was preceded in death, along with her parents, by her grandparents, Angus and Sarah Worthy; aunts, Sarah "May Frances" Geter and Peggy Prater; uncles, Lee Edward Worthy and Bobby Neal Worthy.

She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to daughters, Shaymirria Nicolette Worthy of Spartanburg, SC and Jasmine Worthy of Greenville, SC; sisters, Martha Prater, Sarina Gentry, and Yolanda Worthy all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Corneilius "Toot Toot" Worthy and  James "Red" (Miranda) Prater both of Spartanburg, SC; aunts, Patricia Worthy Mitchell, Evelyn Worthy,  Geneva Worthy, Lillie Thomas, and Louise Thomas all of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Crawford Thomas of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

On the morning of Sunday, April 23, 2023, Sherry slipped from time to eternity. Her warm and inviting spirit will certainly be missed.
