IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sharon Denise
Haywood
August 10, 1961 – March 23, 2025
Sharon Haywood was born on August 10, 1961, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Loreece F. Haywood and the late Joe H. Haywood. Alongside her beloved sister, Linda Williams, she was baptized at Cleveland Baptist Church and found joy singing in the youth choir.
A proud graduate of Spartanburg High School, Class of 1979, Sharon attended USC Upstate before making the honorable decision to serve in the United States Air Force. As an Air Traffic Control Specialist, she served with distinction. After retiring from military service, Baltimore, Maryland, became home, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Business from Strayer University.
Family was the cornerstone of her life. As a devoted mother to Joseph Giddins, Reginald Harris Jr., and Raymond Harris, she provided a nurturing home filled with love, warmth, and a spirited passion for football. Despite the household rivalry between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens, her loyalty never wavered always cheering proudly, "Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go!"
A life filled with laughter, cooking, reading, and gardening brought immense joy. Known for quick wit, a generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to loved ones, she formed deep bonds, especially with Joseph's late grandmother, Eileen Morris, and was affectionately called "Aunt Sharon" in Baltimore. Grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and no milestone whether it was a game, tournament, graduation, or birthday they were never missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Madden, father Joe Haywood, and nephew Larrington "LA" Richardson, Jr.
Surviving to honor her life are mother Loreece F. Haywood; sister, Linda (Milon) Williams; children, Joseph Giddins (Leslie Giddins), Reginald Harris Jr., and Raymond Harris; beloved grandchildren, Jabari Johnson, Jayden Giddins, Riley Harris, Aston Harris, Santana Harris, Ramir Harris, and Raelynn Harris; niece and nephews, Sierra (Derrick) Snead and Darius Richardson; cousins, Dana Haywood, Gaston Haywood, and Natalie Lyles; extended sisters, Rosyln Johnson, Yvonne Gibson, Sharon Giddins, and Patricia Calhoun; a special place in her heart was held for bonus son, Jerome Giddins Jr., and a host of other family members, and dear friends, including her cherished "Dawg," Kenitra Caldwell.
On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Sharon was called home to be with the Lord. She transitioned peacefully while listening to "Take Me to the King" by Tamela Mann. A life well lived and a love well shared will never be forgotten. While deeply missed, this is not goodbye but rather until we meet again.
