Saundra Evonne Mills, affectionately known as "Smiley," was born on November 15, 1961, in Washington, DC. She was given the nickname Smiley because her smile and laughter would light up a room. Saundra was an incredibly loving woman who especially loved the Lord, her children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed attending church, spending time with family and friends in fellowship, and having a good time. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Saundra was preceded in death by her mother, Rayma Mills, son Ronald Hester, and daughter Raylonda Hester.

Those left to remember and cherish her life and legacy include her father, Rev. Dr. Lewis (Magdalene) Mills; daughters Anastasia (Jasmine White) Hester of Charlotte, NC and Lashekia (Bobby Wilkins) Hester of Spartanburg, SC; son Brandon (Latosha Johnson) Hester of Spartanburg, SC; sisters Celita Mills and Lekeisha (Frank) Greene both of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, William Foster of Rochester, NY and Harold (Sandra) Simuel of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Kaidyn Massey, Jordyn Hester, Tyler Hester, and Royalty Hester; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. On the morning of Monday, November 13, 2023, Saundra transitioned peacefully at the Spartanburg Medical Center. Her joyous spirit and loving personality will be missed greatly.
