A Proverbs 31 Woman

Sara B. Lou Martin was born, on October 21, 1945, in Campobello, SC, to the late Judson Roosevelt Hall and the late Coral Lou Horn Hall. She was a graduate of Bethune High School, in Inman, South Carolina. Sara enjoyed being an All-American Basketball Player while in school. She furthered her education and became a licensed cosmetologist.

Sara was noted as being a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Sara was a member of White Hall Independent Church and was a true servant of God. Sara was a true kingdom builder and whatever she could find for her hands to do, she did with the love of her life, Richard Martin, at her side. She was a praiser at heart and was always witnessing for God. Sara often spoke of God's goodness to whomever would listen. Sara can be quoted saying, "I believe and I'll testify while I have a chance". Sara served as a faithful member of the choir and a deaconess. She was also involved in the community and the helping hands ministry for  the senior citizens, until her death.

Sara was preceded in death, along with her parents, by children, William Lee Wilkins, Jr., and Sharon Simmons; sister, Mary Frances Hall; and brothers, Rosevelt Hall, Cleo Hall, John Earl Hall, Jimmy Hall, Joe Hall, and Wilbur Hall.

Sara leaves to cherish her legacy of faith in Christ and love to her loving husband of 28 years, Richard Martin of the home; children, Willie Earl (Beth) Wilkins of Boiling Springs, SC, Kenneth (Javonna) Wilkins of Spartanburg, SC, Angie Wilkins of Boiling Springs, SC, Mary Martin of  Little Africa, SC, Melody Martin of Little Africa, SC, and Wanda Martin of Inman, SC; sister, Elzadie H. Canty of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Judson Hall of Spartanburg, SC and Ralph Hall of Taylors, SC; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Sara transitioned peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Her faith and belief in Christ will be a beacon of light to all who loved and knew her.
