Ms. Sandra Dee Gastinell, "Big Red", was born on September 20, 1962, to Leathore Pierce and the late Mr. Morris Gastinell, Sr. in Sacramento California. She attended O. Perry Walker High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Sandra was formerly employed at Deanies in New Orleans, Lousinana and was a member of Divine Purpose Ministries of Inman, SC.  Red was her favorite color and roses were her favorite flower.  She loved singing, cooking, and baking.

Left to cherish her fond and loving memories are her daughter, Evony Gastinell of Spartanburg, SC; son Gerald Figueredo of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Pamela Cash and Karen Gastinell both of New Orleans, LA, and Monique (Richard) Kinard of Inman, SC; brothers Karl (Debra) Gastinell of Boiling Springs, SC and Jimmy C. (Sterling) Gastinell of Woodruff, SC; grandchildren, Jermain Gastinell Jr., Jecorie Gastinell, Ronald Hodges, III, Jaiya Hodges, Jayden Hodges, Legacy Grant, Gianni Figueredo, Germaine Figueredo,  and Gerald Figueredo, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death, along with her father, Morris Gastinell, Sr., by her son, Jermaine Gastinell; brothers, Morris Gastinell, Jr., and Ellery Chris Gastinell; and grandparents, Eugene and Loretta Gastinell and Houston and Lilly Peirce.

On Thursday, October 7, 2021, Sandra transitioned peacefully with family at her side. She will forever live on in the hearts of those who her life left a permanent imprint.
