Rodrigues Lashawn Bogan was born on October 27, 1980, to Sandra James and John Bogan, Sr., in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was a proud graduate of Spartanburg High School, where he was an active member of the band and played the saxophone.
Rodrigues was known for a fun-loving spirit and a gift for conversation. He loved to talk, connect, and bring laughter into every room. Helpful and easy to love, Rodrigues carried a personality that made people feel comfortable right away. Never meeting a stranger, he was outspoken in a way that reflected both honesty and heart. Black was his favorite color. He was a member of Cleveland Chapel Baptist Church, where he previously served in the choir and as an usher.
He was preceded in death by grandmothers, Martha White and Flossie Booker; brother, Jeremy Montgomery; and grandfathers, William White and Ben Booker
Left to honor and cherish his life and legacy are mother, Sandra (Curtis), James and father, John Bogan, Sr., both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; siblings, John Bogan, Jr. and Selena Bogan, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Christina Bogan of Landrum, South Carolina; godparents, Mary White, Bobbie Haywood, and Debbie (JW) Brown, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina; along with a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Rodrigues transitioned peacefully at home. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
