Obituary

Rodolfo Siliezar, affectionately known as "Rudy," was born, on March 20, 1943, to the late Juana Siliezar and the late Efrain Siliezar, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Rudy was the proud owner and operator of Rudy's Auto Shop in Phoenix, IL, where he faithfully served his community for more than 30 years. Known for his skills and dedication, he was truly a "fix-it-all" and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

He was an amazing husband, a devoted father, and a doting grandfather whose love for his family was unmatched. Rudy's personality was larger than life, gregarious, comedic, and filled with joy. Beyond his work, he lived out his faith as a devoted Chaplain for Christ at Cook County Jail and as a missionary, touching countless lives with encouragement and compassion.

Rudy's passions reflected his vibrant spirit. He was an avid traveler and traveled to South America, the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, and Europe. He was a loyal fan of the Barcelona Soccer Club and the Chicago Cubs, and he loved all colors as a reflection of his appreciation for life's beauty. A faithful member of Homewood Full Gospel Church, he found joy in worship and in fellowship with his church family.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by siblings, Araceli Siliezar, Sergio Siliezar, Victoria Siliezar, Juan Siliezar, and Gustavo Siliezar.

Left to cherish his fond and loving memories are his wife of 64 years, Enriqueta Siliezar of the home; sons, Erick (Debra Cook) Siliezar of South Holland, Illinois, and Edwin (Jason Childers) Siliezar of Lexington, Kentucky; daughters, Lilian (Kurt, Sr.) Thomas of New Lenox, Illinois, and Silvia (Christopher) Filer of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Hector (Maria "Chila") Siliezar, and Jose (Eva) Siliezar both of of Providence, Rhode Island; sisters, Leticia Hernandez of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Luz Satey of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Olga (Jose) Rosario of San Antonio, Texas, Sonia (Rafael) Valdez of San Antonio, Texas, and Lorena Siliezar of Cowpens, South Carolina.
