Ricky Geter was born to the late Glover Geter and the late Mary Simpson Geter on January 12, 1956, in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in the Spartanburg County school system. He was one of two graduates of the Soteria Community. Ricky became an advocate for the program and began traveling and speaking for its fundraising efforts. He was a Clemson Tigers football fan and loved the color orange.

Left to cherish fond and loving memories are one brother, Baularth (Allene) Geatter of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a special friend, Cathy Harrison of Spartanburg, South Carolina; a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers.
