Ricky Davis was born on August 27, 1968, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Lizzi Mae Tate Davis and the late Allen Davis, Jr. He was educated in the Spartanburg County School System and attended Spartanburg High School.

Ricky was a beloved figure in his community and was  known for his humor, generosity, and fierce loyalty. A natural jokester and a steadfast protector he had a rare ability to bring joy to any room he entered. Whether through laughter or acts of kindness, Ricky left a lasting impression on everyone he met. There was never a dull moment in his presence, and his vibrant spirit uplifted those around him.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lizzie Mae and Allen, Jr., as well as his siblings, Mary A. Boyd, Debra L. Davis, and Micheal A. Davis.

Ricky's legacy of love, strength, and family continues through those who remain including  his devoted daughters, Kimberly Davis and Tekeyia Utsey both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Dorothy L. Young, Deloris Davis, Teresia (Leon) Mills, and Vickey Davis, all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Jerry L. Davis and Marcellos Davis, also of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Kingston Davis, Kya Wilson, Jaquan Moore, Kylie Rankie, Khalisee Moore, and Baby Jr; and a host of aunts,  uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends.

On Thursday, May 2025, Ricky departed this life peacefully at Spartanburg Medical Center, surrounded by love. His earthly journey may have ended, but the warmth of his presence, the sound of his laughter, and the impact of his life will echo in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever honored.
