Mr. Phillip Cross was born on May 24, 1958, to the late Lester and the late Beulah Mae Woodruff Cross. He is a native of Spartanburg, SC and attended Spartanburg County schools. Many of his friends and relatives referred to him as "Uncle Ned & Kitty Shit," much-appreciated nicknames.  He was a member of Harrison Grove Baptist Church.  Phillip is a former employee of Concept Packaging where he devoted 22 years.

Phillip was a noted experimentalist who enjoyed dismantling almost any object and rebuilding it. He was an avid swimmer and had a great sense of humor.  He loved music of all genres and played the Harmonica and Flute fluently.  Phillip's favorite TV shows and movies were westerns.

Left to cherish loving memories is his only child, Brandon Phillip Cross of Spartanburg, SC.  Siblings are sisters, Beverly W. Gist (John) and Mary E. Woodruff, both of Spartanburg, SC, Ellen L. "Cookie" Cross of Boiling Springs, SC, Phyllis Simpson of New York, Jackie Jackson and Joyce Mabry (Anthony), both of Inman, SC and Betty Jane Woodruff (deceased); brothers, Lester Cross, Jr. (Joyce) of Spartanburg, SC, Walter Lee Woodruff (deceased) and Anthony Feaster, a cousin reared in the home, of Spartanburg, SC; one uncle, Freddie Foggie of Spartanburg, SC; a sister-in-law, Judy A. Woodruff of Spartanburg, SC; two special nieces, Sherea K. Cross and Melody Woodruff, both of Boiling Springs, SC; a special nephew, Frederick Andre' Cross of Boiling Springs, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

On August 8, 2021, Phillip was called from his earthly home to play in our Master's heavenly band.
