Pastor Woodrow Booker, affectionately known as "Smooth" , was born on November 3, 1958, to the late Edna Lucile Keenan Booker and the late David Booker, Sr., in Spartanburg, SC. He was a graduate of Automotive High School in Brooklyn, NY. Woodrow retired from Raddison Hotel in Manhattan, New York as a Bell Captain after many years of service.
He was the founder and Pastor of The Worship and Praise Deliverance Ministry. Pastor Booker was a man after God's own heart. He loved being a shepherd to those who were entrusted to his care.
Pastor Booker was a very humble and peaceful man. He was very respectful and was most noted for the wisdom that he would share. He loved spending time with his family, especially his children. He was a fan of WWE and enjoyed watching and discussing it with his brothers and children. His favorite sports teams included New York Giants, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers. He was partial to the color royal blue.
He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife, Louretha Booker and brothers, David Booker, Jr. and Ronnie Lee Booker, Sr.
Left to cherish his faith in God and legacy are his daughters, Anner (Christopher Jones) Booker of Brooklyn, NY and Kecia Booker of the home; brothers, Kevin (Robin) Booker of Wilkinsburg, PA, Apostle Willie Booker of Spartanburg, SC and Steve Booker of Spartanburg, SC; sisters-in-law, Pastor Gerlene Booker of Queens, NY, Anna Booker of Brooklyn, NY, and Robin Booker of Wilkinsburg, PA; grandchildren, Zariah Booker, Elyse Cunningham, Caleigh Jones, and Elaya Cunningham; best friends, Sly Ortega and Kelly Duncan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
On the morning of Saturday, June 22, 2024, Pastor Booker received his "Well Done" and join the heavenly band. His life and legacy will be treasured by his family and friends. A soldier in the army of the Lord is now at rest.
