IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mildred Louise
Hutchinson
October 22, 1932 – July 28, 2025
Today, we celebrate the homegoing of a life well lived. Born October 22, 1932, a gift from God to Ms. Edna Means. Mother Hutchinson was educated in Spartanburg County schools. She had a love for cooking and sharing her passion and food with everyone she knew.
Mother Hutchinson had an outgoing personality. She had eight children of her own, but was the mother to all of the neighborhood. The neighbors would spend hours at her home. The house would be full, but there was always room for one more. She was always willing and ready to give a helping hand. She will be truly missed.
Mother Hutchinson was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Means; husband, Arthur Hutchinson; sons, Ernest Logan and Freddie Rhinehart; daughter, Jacqueline Payden; sister, Dorthy Brown and grandson, Kendrick Rhinehart.
Mother Hutchinson leaves her legacy and love to be cherished by her children, Annie Gist, Linda Sartor, Mert Rhinehart, James Means, Bobby Rhinehart, and a God sent daughter, Elizabeth (Willie) Lowde; godsons, Charles (Addie) Parham and Nathaniel Thompson; daughters-in-law, Gwendolyn Logan and Virginia Bridgett. Grandchildren; Kimberly Means, Frederick Means, Craig Briggs, Angela Thompson, Antilius (Zonya) Johnson, Roderick (Sheri) Briggs, Tanika Barber, Ernest D. Logan, Abdul Davis, Candi Johnson, Jermain Landrum, Tyketta Rhinehart, Katisha Rhinehart, Jammie (Shara) Means, Tesha (Jamaal) Alexander, Rashida Rhinehart, Shereka Rhinehart, Porsche Green, Epiffanny Logan, Tierra Rhinehart, Billy Sartor, Isaac Rhinehart, James Means, Jr., Tina Gist, James Gist, Jr., Ronald Gist, and Marcelleous Gist. Nieces, Kathleen Sims, Judy Logan, and Madine Clement; nephews, Willie Means, Michael Means, Jerry Brown, and Thomas Brown; cousins, Anna Hood and Philip Means; bonus children, Bobbie Higgins, Deloris Williams, Angela Roseburgh, Cynthia (Charlie) Thompson, John Byrd, Darren Cummingham, Teddie Lewis, Frank (Eunice) Earle, Calvin Ross, Timothy Brown, Juan Giles, Tanation Tucker, and Willie Tate; nurse, Tara Smith; 54 great-great grandchildren; her church family at Mt Calvary and many loved ones and friends. Psalm 136:1 O, give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. His mercy endureth forever.
On Monday, July 28, 2025, around 4:00 a.m., God could see that Mother Mildred Hutchinson was getting tired. God needed another beautiful flower to put into His garden. So, God sent an angel to seal Mother's lips and ease her pain. Mother Mildred Hutchinson slept into eternity.
