Matthew Junior Boozer, affectionately known as “June,” was born on July 22, 1975, to Patricia Boozer Norris and Matthew Norris, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He was educated in Spartanburg County schools.
June was full of life and truly the life of the party. He never met a stranger and had a way of making everyone around him laugh. He was known for joking about his beloved San Francisco 49ers making it to the Super Bowl every year. Because he could not always remember names, he lovingly called everyone “Cuz,” making each person feel like family.
June was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thelma Boozer, Albert Boozer, and Vargia Amaker; and his uncles, Albert Boozer, Michael Boozer, and Everett Boozer.
Left to honor and cherish his life, along with his parents, Patricia Boozer Norris and Matthew Norris, are his children, Matthew Boozer, De’Quavious Martin, Labresha Boozer, India Boozer, Mya Garrett, Jamyia Rice, Jainasia Boozer, and Paris Boozer, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina, and Zykeria Robinson of Brooklyn, New York; siblings, Anita Boozer, Shawn Hall, Jermark (Aneteria,) Boozer and Morocco Marsh, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina; aunts, Martha Hull, Nancy Young, Ollie Boozer, and Mildred Boozer, all of Spartanburg, South Carolina; uncles, Nathaniel Norris and David Norris, both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; grandchildren, Major Wooden, Aayan Boozer, Royalty Boozer, Makinsley Boozer, and Rylee Potts; special friend, Tyanna Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
On Friday, April 24, 2026, Matthew Junior Boozer transitioned at Spartanburg Medical Center. His laughter, spirit, and love for family will be deeply missed
