IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Marvin
Mccullough
January 12, 1950 – March 1, 2023
Marvin McCullough was born, on January 12, 1950, in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Mary and Clyde McCullough. He was the youngest of four siblings of this union. He was baptized at an early age at Trinity A.M.E. Church.
Marvin grew up in the Highland area and enjoyed lifelong friendships. He attended Carver High School and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1971. He worked at Draper, Fast Photo, and Lil Cricket.
Marvin's purpose in life was centered around his spiritual relationship and his gifts from God. He had a compassionate heart, inquisitive mind, and creative hands. His passions were many—working on cars, music, reading and having lively conversations about the Bible, family, history, science, and technology.
During his high school years, he played on the high school band and later played with different musical groups. At one point in his life, his ingenuity and creativity inspired him to make a guitar by using some of the wood of a black cherry tree he had removed from his yard.
He will be remembered as a kindhearted, family-oriented person. His cousin, Doris, often spoke about the twinkle in his eyes when she
stopped by the house. The two of them had fun reminiscing about the family.
Marvin was preceded in death by his brothers, Clyde McCullough, Jr. and Ralph McCullough.
He leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories to a son, M. Anderson of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren; a devoted and loving sister, Macie McCullough Jackson of Maryland; devoted and loving nieces, nephews, cousins, a sister-in-law, a special friend and neighbor, Shirley; and many other close friends and neighbors.
In Ephesians 2:10, "We are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works."
