Jackson

Marie Jackson was born on January 23, 1937, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to Bennie Prysock and the late Mattie Lee Long Prysock. She was raised in a loving family and received her education at Cedar Grove School in Jonesville, South Carolina.
From an early age, Marie embraced a life rooted in faith and was a devoted member of the Apostolic Faith. Her love for God guided her steps and was evident in the way she lived, served, and cared for others. Marie was known for her warm heart, generous spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook who always had extra food prepared for anyone who might stop by, and a woman who truly enjoyed life's simple pleasures. Marie especially loved to shop, and her favorite color was royal blue—a reflection of her vibrant and joyful personality.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Larry Murphy, Michael Murphy, James Prysock, Joe Lewis Prysock, Bennie Prysock, Jr., Robert Prysock, and Donald Prysock; and her sisters, Jeannette Murphy, Rosa Lee Wallace, and May Frances Murphy.
Left to cherish her precious memories are her sons, James Edward Murphy, Sr., Paul Jackson, Jr., and David Jackson, Sr., all of Pacolet, South Carolina; her daughters, Rose Marie Webster and Gloria Jackson, both of Pacolet, South Carolina; her brothers, Ronald Prysock and Grant (Mary) Prysock both of Spartanburg, South Carolina; her sisters, Vennie Edmonds of Dillwyn, Virginia, and Willie Mae Mitchell of Spartanburg, South Carolina. She was blessed with 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She shared a special bond with her cousin, Elwillie McAdoo.
After a life filled with love, service, and devotion to her family and her Lord, Marie Jackson peacefully departed this life on June 5, 2025, in Pacolet, South Carolina. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
