Margaret Chambers was born to the late Bessie Pitts Garrison and the late S.T. Garrison on October 13, 1951, in Spartanburg, SC.

Margaret was a member of Holden's Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and served on the choir, sympathy club and the missionary board.

She was a graduate of Lincoln High School of Fairforest, SC.  Margaret was a dynamic cook and worked for Spartanburg Methodist College and Northside Correctional Center where she held the position of Kitchen Supervisor.  Her passion was cooking and her specialty was baking the most delicious cakes.

Margaret was a strong, nurturing, caring and hard-working person.  She loved spending time with her family and visiting friends.  She was very fashionable and wore the latest hairstyles and the trendiest clothes.  She was very sociable and liked going out, especially to a good house party.  Margaret loved to talk and never met a stranger; she was also very outspoken.  Her favorite color was blue, all shades.

She was predeceased, along with her parents, by siblings, Martha Gist, George Garrison, Leon Pitts, Roy Lee Pitts and Clyde Reid.

Those left to cherish her loving memories are sons, Deon Brewton and Johnny Chambers, Jr. both of Spartanburg, SC; daughter, Manji (Shiheem) White of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Robert Gist, Curtis (Elizabeth) Reid and Nathaniel (Betty) Reid all of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Maggie Butler of Spartanburg, SC; nephew, Darren (Angela) Butler of Boiling Springs, SC; grandchild, Shomar Chambers; and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

On June 7, 2024, Margaret earned her wings and joined our heavenly father.  She will be sorely missed by those who loved and knew her.
