Margaree Robbs

Margaree Smith Robbs was born on July 22, 1948, to the late Lenora Posey Grant and the late James Grant, in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and grew into a woman whose kindness, strength, and beautiful spirit touched the lives of many.

She was united in marriage to the late Willie P. Robbs and from this cherished union three children were born. Margaree dedicated many years of service as a Nursing Assistant at Spartanburg Regional, where she cared for others with compassion, patience, and a nurturing heart. She never met a stranger and had a way of making people feel welcomed, valued, and loved.

Margaree enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved shopping, had an appreciation for beauty and fashion, and could often be found enjoying her favorite westerns and wrestling programs. Her sense of humor kept those around her smiling and her warm personality made her a joy to be around. She treasured time spent with family and friends and created countless memories that will forever remain in their hearts. She attended Believer Fellowship Assembly and found strength and encouragement through her faith.

She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by husband, Willie P. Robbs and siblings, Aaron Grant, Michael Grant, and Hattie “Penny” Mallory.

She leaves a lifetime of love and cherished memories to her children, Vickie (Melvin) Robinson of Duncan, SC, Willie T. Smith-Robbs and Angela Robbs, both of Spartanburg, SC; siblings, Mary Dunlap of Spartanburg, SC, Ann Grant of Atlanta, GA, and Helen (Anthony) Chappell of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Andrea (Jaycobie) Robbs-McDaniel, Jaswill (Charde) Robbs, Christopher (Demecia) Robbs, Renika Clark-Robbs, Ciera Robbs, Melanie Robinson, Hope Robbs, Deion Robbs, Tyshwanda Smith, Tyvonta Smith, and Tymaine Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; special niece, Cynthia Shumate; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

On Saturday, June 6, 2026, Margaree peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. Though her presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the wisdom she shared, and the love she so freely gave will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. Her life was a beautiful testimony of resilience, compassion, and grace, and her memory will be forever treasured.
