Mamie Marie Collins was born, on November 15, 1965, to the late Reola Mary Hardy Coleman and the late Ray Coleman, in Union, South Carolina. She was educated in the Union County School System and was a 1984 graduate of Union High School. She continued her education at Alpha Beauty School.
Mamie was employed by the United States Postal Service, where she faithfully served as a mail carrier. She was loving and caring, with a gentle spirit that touched everyone she encountered. She enjoyed playing Candy Crush and shopping, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. She also served as a devoted caregiver to her mother alongside her sister, demonstrating selfless love and commitment to family.
Mamie was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was an avid LeBron James fan and a faithful member of Freedom Christian Assembly. Her favorite color was red, which reflected her vibrant personality and warm heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reola Mary Hardy Coleman and Ray Coleman; her brother, Billie Crosby; her son, Cory J. Pitts; and her aunts, Margaretee Garner and Helen Hollaway.
Left to cherish her life and legacy include her loving and devoted husband of thirty years, Rodney Collins of the home; children, Brittany (Darvin) Lindsey-Cameron of Lithonia, GA, Kalondon C. Collins of Spartanburg, SC, and Sharada S. (Michael) Abraham of Rock Hill, SC; siblings, Lillie McKanic of Union, SC, Ray A. (Dereka) Coleman of Covington, GA, Tammy Johnson of Union, SC, Teresa Sheppherd of Spartanburg, SC, Michael (Ana) Coleman of San Antonio, TX, Mark A. Coleman of Union, SC, and Janie (Cloderick) Coleman-Brown of Union, SC; aunt, Margaret Benson of Spartanburg, SC; uncle, Charlie P. Benson of Baltimore, MD; grandchildren, Kimmora R. Lindsey, Caleb Abraham, Chalie D. Cameron, Joshua Abraham, Cartier J. Cameron, and Korey B. Cameron; bestfriends, Renea Simmons, Gloria Thomas, Simone Long, Tootsie Garrett, and Vickie Johnson; USPS work family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
On Wednesday, December 10, 2025, Mamie peacefully transitioned from this life in the comfort of her home. Her departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and she will be deeply and forever missed.
