Ms. Maggie Lean Russell was born, on May 8, 1945, to the late Early Russell and the late Lucille Slaughter Russell, in Vincent, Alabama. Maggie was a loving mother, grandmother, and a domestic engineer. She was a devoted and passionate woman who was the anchor to her family. Maggie was a reverent and praying woman who had a passion for cooking, singing, and reading the Bible. She ensured she had a personal relationship with every member of her family and for that she will never be forgotten.

Maggie was preceded in death, along with her parents, by children, Marsha Weaver and Courtney Russell; siblings, David Lewis Russell, Glenda Russell, and Bobbi Joe Russell.

She leaves to cherish her fond and loving memories to daughters, Glenda Tubbs, of Lyman, SC, Shirley (Dashiaa) Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC, Jennifer (Jermaine) Russell-Walton of Spartanburg, SC and Tonia (Rob) Frataccia of Duncan, SC; sons, Phillip (Robyn) Russell, Sr. of Lawton, OK,  Jerry (April) Russell of Shawnee, OK , and Kentrail Russell, Sr. of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Carolyn (Leon) Hardy of  Decatur, GA; brother, Willie Elvis Russell of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Lekesha (Darrell) Rice, Shawana Tubbs, Eboni Tubbs, Tony (Marshona) Russell, Brandon (Brandy) Jefferies, Phillip Russell, Jr.,  Lasunda Russell, Jerry Q. Twymon, Quay Jones, Courtney Easterday, Jervon Easterday, Jamaury Russell, Jalea Russell, Lamarcus Russell, Kadijah (Chris) Russell, Shakeria Nickson, Marqueze Weaver, TyQuan Weaver, Kentrail Russell, Jr. , Alexandria Russell, Nizzell Russell, Jasmine Tippitt, Julian Frataccia, Jaden Simmons and Jalen Frataccia; special nephew, Larry Kidd, Sr.; great nieces, Candance Crenshaw, and Chelmense Buckner; great nephews, Larry Kidd, Jr., Pervin Swain and Larry Swain; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

On the morning of Tuesday, February 28, 2023, Maggie transitioned peacefully at her home surrounded by family. Her legacy and memory will be a testament of her life and forever cherished.
