IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lula Mae
Simpson
September 1, 1966 – December 4, 2023
Lula Mae Simpson was born, on September 9, 1966, to Betty Jean Simpson and the late Grover C. Simpson, in Spartanburg, SC. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School. Lula worked for many years at Wendy's. She was a member of Ebenezeer Baptist Church and attended the Highland Community Center.
Lula had a comical personality. She was very family oriented and had an endearing love for her children and grandchildren. She is noted for being helpful and kind but also a firecracker. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards, solving word puzzles, watching Charmed and the Food Network. Lula was a great cook and a New England Patriots fan. Her favorite color was purple.
Lula was preceded in death, along with her father, by grandmother, Lula Mae Padgett and uncle, James Henderson.
Left to honor her memory are son, Desmond Tavarous Simpson of the home; sister, Seterria Simpson of Spartanburg SC; brothers, Grover Simpson, Steven Simpson, Michael Simpson and Jason Simpson all of Haverhill, MA; sisters, Lerenice Wray of Spartanburg, SC, Margot Simpson of Spartanburg, SC, Cheryl Simpson of Boston, MA, and Yolanda Simpson of Haverhill, MA; uncle, Frederick Henderson of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Desmariah Simpson, Rameer Middleton, Tra'Mij Brown and Royalty Middleton all of Spartanburg, SC; nephews, Javon Lewis, Charles Lewis, and Bruce Drummond; niece, Aletha Simpson; and a host of other relatives and friends.
On the evening of Monday, December 4, 2023, Lula transitioned at the Spartanburg Medical Center. She will be missed sorely by her family and friends.
