Obituary

Lucille Landrum Swindler was born, on February 24, 1930, to, the late Frank Landrum and the late, Leola Landrum in Spartanburg, SC. She held a membership at the Holden's Chapel Baptist Church. Lucille was the only black floral design technician employed at Coggins Flowers and Gifts for over 30 years. She had a love for flowers and Springtime because the vast array of flowers were in bloom. Lucille's favorite color was green, and she thoroughly enjoyed watching Young and the Restless, Days of our Lives and Bold and the Beautiful. She had an uncanny sense of humor, and her wit was unmatched. Lucille was most noted for her giving and caring heart; you could not leave her presence without her trying to gift you something.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Broadus Swindler; children, Charles

Swindler and Margaret Ann Swindler Jeter; siblings, Emmanuel Landrum, Roosevelt Landrum, Frank Landrum and Marvin Landrum; grandson, Corey Swindler; and dog, Tim.

Left to cherish Lucille's life, legacy, and love are daughter, Sarah Ann (Willie T. "Mac") McIntyre of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Otis Swindler, Dorsey (Gloria) Swindler, Roy Lee Swindler, and John (Michelle) Swindler all of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Dorothy Landrum, Helen Landrum, Ruby Osborne, Marjean Landrum, and Mary Goudelock all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers,  Arthur Landrum, Calvin Landrum and Curtis (Cynthia) Landrum all of Spartanburg, SC; sister-in-law, Margaret Swindler of Charlotte, NC;  honorary family members, Catherine Hughes,  Louise Swindler, Josephine Means, and Alice Shelton Gloria Bentley; honorary friend, Jimmy Coggins; in home caregivers, Robin Henderson and  Myeshaya Harris; 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

On the afternoon of Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Lucille transitioned to the care and keeping of our wonderful Savior. Her kind and generous heart and witty spirit will forever be treasured in the hearts and minds of all who knew her.
