Lorene Ford was born, on May 5, 1952, to the late Leola Pearson Martin and the late Dock Martin, Jr.  She was educated in the Spartanburg County schools. She went on to receive certifications in nursing.

Lorene was a nice, caring and extremely comedic lady. She was loveable and enjoyed partying and spending time at casinos. Her favorite color was teal blue and she was a member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by husband, James Ford and brothers, James Martin, Michael Martin and Marvin Martin.

Left to cherish her fond and loving memories are:  her daughter, Niki (Carlos) Wofford of Spartanburg, SC; sons, Raymond Johnson and Rayburn Johnson both of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Robert Martin and  Ricky (Lisa Waddell)  Martin both of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Loretta Bell and Linda Martin both of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren Diyoung Dantzler, Mia (Rico) Nelson, Jasmine Cannon, Rashun Wofford, Kwame Fernanders, Embrey (Joshua) Steadings, and Marquia Wofford; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Lorene transitioned peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Her comedic flair and loving heart will always be treasured by all who loved and knew her.
