IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Lamar Benjamin
Wofford
July 28, 1973 – June 29, 2025
Lamar Benjamin Wofford, affectionately known as "Uncle Ben," was born on July 28, 1973, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, to the late Suzanne Jefferies Wofford and the late Lamar Benjamin Wofford, Sr.
Lamar was educated in the Spartanburg County School System and was employed with the Dollar Tree Distribution Center as a forklift driver. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his job.
Lamar had a deep love for family and found great joy in spending quality time with his loved ones. He was especially known for his quiet spirit, his love of fishing, and his unmatched skills on the grill—earning him the title of "Grill Master." He found relaxation in music, especially enjoying rap, R&B, and hip hop. A proud fan of the San Francisco 49ers, Lamar faithfully hosted game day gatherings during football season, where friends and family could count on good food and even better fellowship.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Michael Wofford; and his cousin, Tyrek Jefferies.
Lamar leaves to cherish his memory: two devoted sisters, Sandra Jefferies (Tim) Parham of Spartanburg, SC, and Tracy Jefferies (Larry) Nesbitt of Campobello, SC; beloved aunts, Cathy Moore and Nancy E. Jefferies of Spartanburg, SC, and Mildred (Ivan) Askew of Highland, CA; uncles, Curtis (Patricia) Wofford of Spartanburg, SC, and Gary Wofford of Greenville, SC; a cousin who was like a brother, Terrell Jefferies; and his cherished football crew, Charles "Beat" Keenan, Richard McBeth, Roderick "Pookie" Carter, Charlie Thompson, Marcus Wofford, John Bivens, Dana Haywood, Kourtney Jefferies, and Nick Cunningham. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who will miss him deeply.
