Kabrey Dechille Nesbitt was born on August 25, 1963, to the late Gladys Geneva Nesbitt. She was educated in the Spartanburg County School System and graduated from Chapman High School in 1981. Continuing her pursuit of knowledge and excellence, she attended the University of South Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in applied Science. She later furthered her education by obtained an Associate Degree in Nursing. Kabrey faithfully served the community for many years as a nurse at Spartanburg Medical Center, where her compassion and dedication touched countless lives.
Kabrey found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments. She enjoyed writing poetry, reading the Bible, traveling, gardening, and attending concerts. She was a devoted member of The Temple, where she actively participated in several ministries, including the Word Divas Ministry, Health Auxiliary, and Kitchen Committee. A loyal South Carolina Gamecocks fan, she also loved the colors blue and purple.
Kabrey was preceded in death, along with her mother, by her siblings, Douglas Nesbitt, Gwendolyn Nesbitt, Kenneth Nesbitt, and Terry Nesbitt.
Left to cherish and honor her life and legacy are her daughter, Deonna Nesbitt of Inman, SC; siblings, Carolyn Wilks of Inman, SC, Christiana (Michael) Miller of Spartanburg, SC, Dennis L. Nesbitt of Inman, SC, Rachel Williams of Spartanburg, SC, Errie Williams of Spartanburg, SC, and Freddie Nesbitt of Spartanburg, SC; her fur grandbaby, Edna Jane Dillard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
On the morning of May 8, 2026, Kabrey peacefully transitioned at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Her gentle spirit, loving heart, and unwavering faith will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
