Mr. John Douglas Woodruff was born on March 4, 1942 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Mr. George Woodruff and late Elizabeth Gossett.  He was educated in the Spartanburg county school system. Mr. Woodruff was trained in martial arts and owned a Karate Studio where he also served as an instructor.  He was also an accomplished musician with his primary instrument being the saxophone.  He retired from General Motors after many years of service.

Left to cherish his lasting and loving memories are one son, John Douglas Woodruff, Jr. of California; one daughter, Barbara Nesbitt of Spartanburg, SC; one sister, Toni Sims of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives.

He was predeceased by a sister Mary Louise Woodruff, a brother George Woodruff, Jr. and his grandparents.

On Friday May 21, 2021, John peaceably entered eternal rest with his family at his side. He is now in the care and keeping of our capable savior.
