John Louis Davis, Jr., affectionately known as "Butch", was born on October 29, 1948, to the late Alease Garnett Jenkins Davis and the late John Louis Davis, in Spartanburg, SC. John worked many years in the manufacturing industry.

John was known as the life of the party and enjoyed dancing. He never met a stranger and was extremely outgoing. He was of the Baptist faith and was baptized at an early age and he sang in the choir. John was a stylish dresser and was known for his scarves. He was partial to fall colors.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by a brother-in-law, Jerry Sheffey

Those who remain include his sisters, Brenda Sheffey of Wytheville, VA and Patricia Penson of New York; brother, Sharone Davis of Spartanburg, SC; aunt, Lucy Davis Steen of Spartanburg, SC; niece, Samara Sheffey; nephew, JJ Sheffey; and a host of other relatives and friends.

On the evening of Monday, October 15, 2024, John transitioned at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. He will forever be remembered, loved and cherished by his family and friends.
