Mr. John Booker was born on August 1, 1955, to the late Margaret Booker and the late James Pitts in Spartanburg, SC. He was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. John served in the United States Army and was a lover of westerns and all sports.

He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by sisters, Ruby Mae Crawford and Annie Owens.

He leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to his son, Jesse Mills of Asheville, NC; sisters, Maudy Lee Richard, Margaret Booker, and Mary Freeman all of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, James Earl (Benita) Booker of Greenville, SC and Ronnie (Jimmie Kay) Booker of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends.

On the morning of November 16, 2022, John transitioned peacefully at the White Oak North Grove Rehabilitation Center. His loving spirit will be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
