Ms. Joan Hall was born on August 24, 1955, to the late Hollis Hall and the late Rachel Hall in Spartanburg, SC. She was educated in the Spartanburg County school system. She worked for many years in the hospitality industry. Her favorite color was burgundy, and she loved roses.

Joann leaves to cherish fond and loving memories to her daughter, Elaine Hall of Campobello, SC; lifelong companion, Eugene Smith of the home; sisters, Genelle (Michael) Hall Jones of Spartanburg, SC  and Mae Carol Hall of Campobello, SC;  grandchildren, Brianna Hall, Ke'Nya Brooks, Tre'Von Brooks and Des'Monae Suber; an aunt, Lizzie Brewton of Spartanburg, SC; nephews, Rashad (Tameka) Hall of Lyman, SC and Michael (Briana) Jones, Jr. of Boiling Springs, SC; a niece, Chanelle Jones of Spartanburg, SC; great nieces, Rachel Hall of Greenville, SC and Arya Hall of Spartanburg, SC; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death, along with her parents, by a brother, Cornell Hall and a nephew, Derrick Hall.

On Saturday, September 25, 2021, a beautiful rose was picked from time and placed into eternity.
