Jimmy Ferguson was born on November 8, 1954, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Lois Ferguson and the late Elejah Rice. He was educated in the Spartanburg County school system and attended Lincoln High School.

Jimmy proudly served in the United States Army and later worked for the Clement Lumber Company. In his younger years, he had a passion for basketball, playing in little league and continuing the sport as an adult. He also enjoyed watching football, Gunsmoke, Westerns, and The Andy Griffith Show. His favorite colors were blue and tan.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Willie J. Ferguson and Will Henry Ferguson; his grandmother, Lizzie Ferguson; and his brother-in-law, Charles Murphy.

Jimmy's memory will be cherished by his loving siblings, Jesse Ferguson, Martha Lee Ferguson, and Josephine Ferguson Murphy, all of Spartanburg, SC, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

On Sunday, March 23, 2025, Jimmy transitioned peacefully at Magnolia Manor. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
