Janie Esther Ferguson

Janie Esther Ferguson was born on June 16, 1940, in Spartanburg, SC, to the late Otis Ferguson and Queen Esther Ferguson. She was educated in Spartanburg County schools and dedicated more than three decades of faithful service to Spartan Mills, where she retired after thirty years of employment.

A woman of steadfast faith, Janie was a devoted member of Harrison Grove Baptist Church. She was known for her quiet strength, loving heart, and unwavering devotion to her family. Her life was marked by hard work, resilience, and a deep commitment to those she loved most.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Shirley Peake, Ethe Mae Ferguson, Odee Lee Ferguson, and Ellaree Shands.

Cherishing her precious memories are her devoted daughter, Tammy Blakely of the home; beloved grandson, Dimetri Ferguson of the home; brothers, Reverend O.C. Ferguson, Sr., Rossie Ferguson, and Charles Ferguson, all of Spartanburg, SC; sisters, Rachel Fair, Barbara Ladsom, and Christine Ferguson, all of Spartanburg, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will forever treasure the love and legacy she leaves behind.

On Monday, June 22, 2026, Janie peacefully entered into eternal rest at her home. Though her earthly journey has ended, her life of faith, love, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know and love her.
