James Ray Twitty was born in Rutherfordton, NC, on September 6, 1952, to the late James Jacob "Chuck" Miller and Alma Kathleen "Kat" Twitty.
T he Life Lived…
James attended Polk Central High School where he was a star Athlete in track and football. He worked for Draper Plant and Milliken, both for over 20 years. He joined Ridgeville Baptist Church and was a part of the brotherhood and at times stood in for the ushers when needed.
Sunset…
On Friday, April 19, 2025, James was called from this old world to a brand new home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt Etta Twitty, who helped raise James from an early age.
Those Who Remain…
James leaves to cherish his precious memories: two children, Tina Twitty (Brian) McKinney and Kara Twitty both of Chesnee, SC; four grandchildren, Tyonne (who was raised in the home), Britain, Takeyia and Octavia; three great grandchildren, Legend, Bentley and Braylon; two brothers, Michael (Dorothy) Miller of New York, Terry (Angie) Twitty of Black Mountain, NC; one sister, Patricia Miller of New York; two aunts, Hattie Miller Dewberry and Ruby Twitty Perry (who was a part of raising James from an early age) both of Rutherfordton, NC; and a host of other family and friends who loved and cared for James.
